Every library has a story. Ours began with a six-month-old, a few books, and a curious mother.

📖 OUR STORY

Back in 2016, when my son was just six months old, I often wondered what I could do with him during the day that was meaningful, engaging and enjoyable for both of us.

A friend introduced me to the wonderful world of children's books. We visited a library, brought home a few books, and something clicked. I discovered the joy of children's literature — and slowly, books became a special part of our everyday life.

Reading gave me a beautiful way to spend mindful time with my children. Books became our little moments of connection — making us laugh, helping us explore new worlds and, at times, even becoming my secret weapon during a tantrum!

As my children grew, so did my love for books. And somewhere along the way, I began wondering — could I share this joy with other children and families too?

That little thought became The Dream Library.

🌱 FROM A DREAM TO A LIBRARY

In 2019, The Dream Library began with just 400 books. What started as a small home library gradually grew through word of mouth, with one family introducing us to another.

Today, our collection has grown to 8,500+ books, and we've had the joy of being part of the reading journeys of 350+ families.

But the numbers aren't really what make us proud.

It's the little things.

A child discovering a favourite author.

A reluctant reader finally asking, "Can I have another book?"

A parent telling us that their children now choose books on their own.

A family finding time to sit together and read.

Those are the milestones that matter to us.

💛 WHAT WE BELIEVE

Every child is a reader. They just need the right book.

We don't believe reading should be forced or feel like another task on a child's list. We believe children need access, choice, encouragement and the freedom to discover stories that speak to them.

That's why at TDL, we don't simply put books into boxes. We help families find books that fit their child.

You can explore our collection yourself, choose books with us, or ask us for personalised recommendations based on your child's age, interests and reading journey.

Because sometimes, finding the right book is all it takes to unlock a reader.

👩‍💼 MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Srividya.

I'm a Chemical Engineer by education and spent nine years in the corporate world before choosing a very different path — one built around children, books and stories.

Motherhood introduced me to the wonderful world of children's literature. What began as reading with my own children gradually grew into a deeper passion for books and a desire to help more children discover the joy of reading.

Today, I spend my days surrounded by books, children and families — helping parents discover books their children will enjoy, creating meaningful reading experiences, and watching children grow from being introduced to books to becoming confident, independent readers.

The Dream Library feels a little like my third baby. And watching it grow alongside the children and families who are part of it is something I feel incredibly grateful for.
